Our school has been filled with culture, colour and joy to welcome the Chinese New Year 🧧, one of the most important festivities in the lunar calendar.
10 mar. 2026
In 2026, we celebrate the Year of the Horse, a symbol of energy, freedom and perseverance. These are inspiring values that we wanted to convey to all our students on a very special day.
From 3-year-olds to 1st year ESO students, our pupils showed that cultural learning knows no age limits. Chinese songs echoed around the sports hall, bringing us closer to the richness of an ancient language .

They also enthusiastically took part in a raffle and various creative workshops, such as Chinese calligraphy, where they discovered the precision and artistry of each stroke .
The day was organised by Shuyi Li, the school's Chinese teacher, to whom we are deeply grateful for her dedication and enthusiasm. We were also joined by teachers and members of the management team from the Confucius Institute at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
One of the most special moments was the performance by three teachers from the Confucius Institute, who treated us to delicate and expressive traditional dances. And, of course, the dragon — a symbol of wisdom, power and good fortune — paraded around the grounds, arousing the admiration and enthusiasm of young and old alike.
An unforgettable day that reinforces our commitment to cultural diversity and global learning.
Happy Year of the Horse!
