On Wednesday, 28 January, Arenas International School held its traditional Charity Run, an initiative that has become one of the school's most notable events in commemoration of the International Day of Peace and Non-Violence in Schools
2 feb. 2026
Under the slogan ‘United for children, driven by solidarity’, this event brought together students and teachers with a common goal: to promote values such as empathy, social commitment and cooperation, while raising funds for UNICEF.

An activity that brings all students together
The Charity Run is organised by Year 11 students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, with participation from students at all educational levels, from Early Childhood Education to Sixth Form, making it a true celebration of coexistence and teamwork.

Each group participated in different circuits adapted to their age, completing several laps around the centre's sports facilities. Individual effort was transformed into collective action thanks to the support of family and friends, who acted as solidarity sponsors, contributing financially for each lap completed.

Support for UNICEF and the most vulnerable children
The funds raised will go to UNICEF, an international organisation that works to improve the living conditions of mothers and children in developing countries, guaranteeing access to healthcare, education and child protection.
In the previous edition, the race raised €2,406, a figure that reflects the high level of involvement of the entire educational community and its genuine commitment to charitable causes.
An exceptional patron: an example of overcoming adversity and values
The race was sponsored by Victoria Romero Martín, a 4th year ESO student at Colegio Arenas Internacional and Spanish synchronised swimming champion. Her presence served as an inspiration to the participants, sharing her experiences, hopes and values related to effort, perseverance and teamwork.
Victoria accompanied the students for part of the route, reinforcing the spirit of motivation and camaraderie that characterises this event.

Education in values: beyond the classroom
This Charity Run is one of many charitable and educational activities organised by Colegio Arenas Internacional throughout the school year, with the aim of educating not only good students, but also committed, responsible citizens who are sensitive to social issues, attributes that are promoted by the IB International Programmes taught at the school from nursery to sixth form.
