Peace Day: 40 years educating in values

Four decades dedicated to education, guided by a commitment to the values of coexistence, respect, solidarity and the comprehensive education of our students.

During this day, students participated in various activities aligned with the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) International Studies Programmes, which promote education geared towards peace, intercultural understanding and global citizenship.

enlightenedThe main event was a gathering attended by all the school's pupils, dressed in white T-shirts as a symbol of peace and unity. Banners and posters with messages of peace, prepared beforehand in the classrooms, were displayed, and a manifesto was read out highlighting the importance of building a more just, supportive and tolerant world, promoting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution.

One of the most moving moments was the reading of the word ‘peace’ in the different mother tongues spoken at the school, a gesture that highlighted the cultural diversity of our educational community and reinforced the open-mindedness attribute of the IB Learning Community Profile.

To close the event, all the students performed the song ‘Sueña la Paz’ (Dream of Peace), creating an atmosphere of unity and shared commitment, while the nursery school pupils brought joy and enthusiasm with their performance of the ‘Samba de la Paz’ (Samba of Peace).

enlightenedThis celebration not only reaffirms the values that inspire the school's educational project, but also reflects the trajectory of a school that, throughout its 40-year history, has been committed to innovative, inclusive education focused on training people of integrity and commitment. As the only school in Lanzarote offering the prestigious International Baccalaureate programmes, the school continues to move forward with its sights set on the future, faithful to its commitment to peace, coexistence and the education of global citizens.
