As a bilingual school (Spanish-English) and specialist in Modern Languages, at Arenas International School we have once again celebrated one of the most emblematic holidays in Anglo-Saxon culture: Halloween. Our school has been filled with games, workshops, costumes and competitions so that the pupils, from Infants to Secondary, have enjoyed a spooky day which, through activities in English and Spanish, allows them to get to know and experience Anglo-Saxon culture up close. The school has been invaded by vampires, witches, skeletons, mummies and zombies in a festive and educational atmosphere that makes Halloween a special occasion for learning. In Infants, our little ones have participated throughout the week in creative workshops which culminated in the ‘Terrorífica & Quot’ party. There, they enjoyed themed games such as ‘Tic-tac-toe “ with ghosts and pumpkins, gel explorers, haunted bowling, bug hunt, ”zombie tag,’ ‘eyeball race’ and ‘Spiderweb Tangle,’ among others. They also participated in fun dances, storytelling and performed the musical story ‘The Little Vampire.’
In Primary, the students experienced a ‘spooky’ day full of exciting activities. From workshops and games to the traditional Halloween Pumpkin competition, students got into the spirit of the holiday. Activities included a maths escape room, creating paper puppets with Halloween characters and haunted houses, dark challenges, Spider Craft, Tim Burton-style portraits and watching short Halloween films.
In Secondary, Halloween was integrated into English classes, where activities such as games,Halloween Recipes and vocabulary activities took place. In addition, in Spanish classes, students watched a special documentary to commemorate "Día de los Finaos, ’ highlighting the cultural richness of our local traditions.
Happy Halloween!
