  • To include families as primary collaborators in the counselling process.
  • To be vigilant of group behaviour, acting as a resource for personal development and a mediator for conflict resolution.
  • To advise teachers and tutors on the handling of social situations.
  • To apply procedures that facilitate classroom learning.

Tutorial System - Pastoral care

In our annual questionnaire, our form tutors are consistently rated as being outstanding by both students and families and their role is a vital part of the work we do every day in our schools.

The work they do ensures the quality of the teaching-learning process, particularly in relation to the basic principle of providing a personalised education, focused on personal development and the individual needs of each student. Our aim is that students feel supported throughout their education, growth and development; and that they learn how to become individuals, to coexist, to think and to make decisions.

Equality and Diversity in the Classroom

At our schools, we provide an inclusive teaching and learning environment, ensuring that all students, regardless of race, gender, religion, social or cultural background, have equal opportunities regarding their education and participation in the learning process. In order to do this, we focus our strategies initially on identifying and eliminating any barriers or obstacles.

Each student is unique and has their own individual educational needs. Throughout the learning process these needs are taken into account, while at the same time students are provided with a balanced education based on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and moral values. Within the curriculum, we include strategies for differentiated instruction that cater for all educational needs and styles and which help to create a stimulating and motivating learning environment where students are able to demonstrate their development in different ways.

We focus on the strengths of each student while providing a high quality education that aims to develop caring, knowledgeable, open-minded, multilingual and respectful citizens. The teaching methods applied in our schools are designed to be open, flexible and engaging. Evaluation methods are varied and incorporate the use of a number of different tools and instruments. These strategies help to create a positive learning environment, generate challenging learning experiences that help students to develop a sense of self-assurance and confidence and provide them with opportunities to reflect on their education and achieve both academic and personal success.

Workshops for Parents

Our Workshops for Parents offer our students’ families the opportunity to acquire educational resources that will help them to encourage their children to develop positive attitudes, values and personal skills. In addition, the workshops are designed to provide information, answer questions, offer practical advice, propose activities and serve as a platform for discussion and for parents to share their experiences with each other.

TUTORIAL SYSTEM

It coordinates the learning process of our students.
It serves as a means of communication between the school and families.
It allows teachers to monitor the individual progress of students during the teaching-learning process.
It helps students to develop moral values and encourages them to make decisions that will allow them to reach their full potential.
It helps to facilitate the process of integration, inclusion and developing a sense of respect for others.
Tutors work together with families, through frequent parent-teacher meetings, in order to make decisions that are in the best interest of students.
Tutors carry out further activities, aside from those included in the curriculum, so as to enrich the development of students’ learning skills.
